After six deary years as an attorney working for The Man, Charles Star quit to try out stand-up comedy. Then he ran out of money. So he is a lawyer again, which at least forces him to interact with people who aren't comedians. He believes that this helps his comedy, or, at least, tells himself that it does so that he doesn't cry at his day job.
Charles has been a contributor to the Onion News Network and Modern Humorist and is a regular contributor to Stay Free! Daily, the blog companion to the jaw-droppingly good Stay Free! magazine. He has performed at clubs and alternative rooms all over New York City including Comix, Gotham Comedy Club, Stand-Up New York, Laugh Lounge, Laugh Factory, Rififi and The Brooklyn Comedy Company as well as a small sample of clubs across the country.
Charles currently hosts the monthly stand-up showcase "Pant-Hoot" at Magnetic Field in Brooklyn Heights and the monthly lecture series Adult Education at Union Hall in Park Slope.
